Thousands flock to exhumed body of saint

The exhumed body of Padre Pio, a saint considered a miracle worker by his devotees, attracted thousands of pilgrims on Thursday when it went on display 40 years after his death.

Stigmata appear on the wrong place on the hands, when they should be on the wrists... which isn’t to deny their reality or the notional spiritual event they may represent for the bearer of these marks - just that Christ had to have crucified through the wrists as the hands are not structurally strong enough to support the weight of a human body, thus impaled by nails.
There is something irretrievably macabre about all of this. I think I said that before... better not to dig up the past, eh ?
